Sometimes, I’m preoccupied with my own struggles. With my business. My relationships. My self-development. I worry whether I am making the most out of my life. Whether I am squeezing all the juice out of my lemons. Whether I am following my purpose and passion. Whether I am accomplishing enough goals to make myself proud.
And if I continue to delve deep into this territory, it’s endless. I get preoccupied with my thoughts. My worries. My anxieties. All the negative emotions bottled up within me come rising up like a tornado. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter whether I’m feeling on top of the world or down in the dumps.
It doesn’t matter, because like it or not, the world will move on with or without you. The world has its own intricacies. Its own stories. There are billions of people in this world living their own life. Having their own worries. Their own thrills. Their own subjective experiences.
Whose to say that my little problems will hinder the development of billions of other people in this world. With their own unique qualities and their own unique pursuits and goals. It’s tough to say.
Sometimes, there is no choice but to move on. To move forward. To keep going into the future without looking or reminiscing back into the past. That’s the only worthy choice to have. Because the world will move on with or without you. It doesn’t matter if you are still stuck in the past. If you’re worrying about a significant other. If you’re still stuck on that guy or girl from a few years ago.
The world moves on. Like it or not. So, it’s important to put that into perspective. That people have their own stories to worry about. Nobody has time to worry about little old me. Don’t get me wrong. There are lots of support networks out there to help you deal with your issues. It’s just that - for better or worse - everyone is living their own lives. They will only do what makes each one of them happy.
So, the next time you’re dwelling into the past, keep that in mind. Remember that the world is not going to just wait for you to get over your troubles. It will move on at a blistering pace. There are bridges to build. Diseases to cure. Games to win. And so on and so on. Accomplishments to be had.
It’s a never-ending cycle of achievement and accomplishment and moving forward. Just continue to move forward. That’s what I got to keep on telling myself whenever I’m stuck in a rut. When I’m looking backwards and not moving forwards. I need to move on. I have to move on. It’s simply the only feasible choice I have.
To anyone out there that is struggling with the past, you’re not alone. There are plenty of people that deal with their own adversity and are stuck in a rut. Just will yourself to look forward. Look at the world with abundance - not scarcity. With hope - not terror. With opportunities - not droughts. It’s simply a perspective that we all must have. In order to endure the inevitable curveballs that life throws our way.
The world will move on. And thus, for better or worse, we will need to move on for the better. We will need to see what the world has to offer. To look into the future with hope, abundance, and possibilities. Because the world is filled with billions of people - looking for their next adventure. Who is to say that you won’t meet a couple of those people and have your interest align with them?
There are plenty of people out there. It’s time to move on and meet new ones. To get back out there. To look at this great big beautiful world full of possibilities and seize it while it comes. Even in the darkest of moments, we can will ourselves to look into the future with hope instead of despair.
It’s not too late. In fact, it’s never too late. We are a resilient bunch and we will prevail over our personal demons. We will see this world in a positive light. And we will operate accordingly. I can fall back on my personal struggles and see how I’ve overcome each and every one of them. Thru perseverance. Thru strategy. Thru open-mindedness. And thru patience. Time can often heal those personal wounds if we give it enough room to operate.
So, just give it time. Breathe. Relax. Everything will be okay in the end. Move on with kindness and empathy. With generosity and compassion. With gratitude, respect, and acceptance. Move on in a dignified manner. Keep moving forward. You won’t regret it. That’s the only way thru. The best way thru. We fall. And we get back up. It’s as simple as that.
There is a great big beautiful world out there for us to experience. Regardless of the external circumstances swirling around us, we need to look internally to see the true beauty in all its existence. We can let go. We can move on. We can learn from our personal mistakes. And we can come out on the other side as a better and more fulfilled human being.
